Enrol now for the coming academic year

Enrolment for new and current students started on Monday, 7 May 2012. All students will personally receive a message from the UvA about enrolment. The course registration period for study programmes begins in June 2012.

Upload a photo for your student ID card before 1 August

If you upload your photo before 1 August, you will receive your student ID card before the new academic year begins. This new card is valid as a form of identification for lectures and exams.

Research talent subsidy for IViR research group

The Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO) has granted a prestigious research talent subsidy to PhD candidate Bart van der Sloot of the Institute for Information Law, for his research project entitled 'Privacy as Virtue: towards an actor based approach to privacy regulation'.

A number of study centres and libraries will be open longer due to the exam period.

Dr Guénaël Mettraux was appointed Professor of International Criminal Law, with a particular focus on international criminal procedure, at the University of Amsterdam’s (UvA) Faculty of Law.

UNISCA - August 13-25

UNISCA is a Model United Nations (MUN) organised by the University of Amsterdam. It is a program which consists of a two week long Summercourse, in which a simulation of a United Nations Conference takes place.

UvA Library’s EndNote license expires: switch to RefWorks

Do you use EndNote bibliographic software to manage your citations? As of July, EndNote will no longer be available at the UvA. However, there is an excellent alternative: RefWorks.
