Code of Conduct during examinations
Rules for the Conduct of Examinations
In accordance with the provisions of Article 15 of the Regulations for Examinations, the Examining Board has issued the following rules for the conduct of examinations.
a. The student should arrive at the examination venue in good time.
b. Unless permitted by the examiner due to exceptional circumstances, no person will be admitted to the examination after its scheduled start time.
c. The student should bring his or her confirmation of registration to the examination, and be prepared to present it upon request.
d. The student must be able to provide identification, by means of a valid proof of university enrolment accompanied by a valid identity card, passport, driving licence or other official document bearing a photograph of the student and from which the identity can be established.
e. Unless permitted by the examiner, no person may leave the examination during its first 30 minutes.
f. The student should bring a pen, a pencil (HB) and an eraser to the examination.
g. When taking a seat in the examination room, the student should follow the instructions given by the invigilator.
h. Smoking is prohibited in the examination room.
i. A student who needs to use the toilet during an examination should notify the invigilator and follow his or her instructions.
j. Only materials specifically permitted by the examiner(s) may be taken into the examination. Unannotated statute books are always allowed to be taken into examinations.
k. The only annotations allowed to the statute books and casebooks used in examinations are underlining and references to articles in law. Compliance with this rule may be checked during the examination.
l. It is prohibited to bring programmed calculators, buzzers, mobile phones or equipment with a similar function to the exam.
m. If a violation of these rules is established during an exam an official rport will be made as mentioned in Clause 17 of the Examination Rules and Regulations.
