On Friday 3 February from 16:00 onwards the Graduate School of Social Sciences (GSSS) officially opens the new academic year starting as of February 2012. All new Master's students starting a Dutch or English language Master's programme as of February 2012 are cordially invited to attend the official opening of the academic year.

The ceremony will be opened by an official word of welcome of Prof. Dr. Mark Rutgers, director of the GSSS, followed by an academic opening speech by a respected GSSS professor. The official opening takes place in the Piramidezaal at the Binnengasthuis (Atrium) and will be followed by drinks. The official opening of the academic year is preceded by (obligatory) practical orientation meetings per master programme.
