Student OV-chipcard information

Students will soon only be able to travel with a valid Student OV-chipcard. From Thursday, 4 February to Friday, 12 February inclusive, an information team will come to the UvA to inform students about the card.

DigiD required for Studielink login

With effect from 8 February, Studielink will use DigiD for logging in. All students eligible for a DigiD must use DigiD to log in from that date. Log in to Studielink as soon as possible after 8 February to update your account.

Studielink unavailable three days

On 5, 6 and 7 February, Studielink will be unavailable the whole day due to the installation of a new software version. Studielink will work again as normal from Monday, 8 February.

2010 Cordaid Multatuli Award

Does your Master’s thesis deal with the issue of multicultural society, and has it been approved in 2009 and did it receive excellent marks? If so, you are eligible for the 2010 Cordaid Multatuli Award.

Emptying the Udrive trash can

The Udrive trash can of many students is full. As of 1 February, the Computer Services Centre (Informatiseringscentrum, IC) will automatically empty all trash cans every week.

USC Free Sports Week

The University Sports Centre (USC) is throwing its doors wide open. From Monday, 1 February - Friday, 5 February 2010 everyone can sport for free.

New opening hours study centres and library computer rooms

As of 1 January 2010, the opening hours of the study centres and University Library (UB) computer rooms have changed.

IB-Groep to be called DUO – IB-Groep henceforth

As of 1 January 2010 Informatie Beheer Groep (IB-Groep) and Centrale Financiën (CFI) have merged to form the Dienst Uitvoering Onderwijs (DUO).

Upgrade SPSS

The following message is of vital importance to users of the computer software SPSS. On 30 January, there will be an SPSS upgrade performed on all PCs in the study rooms.

Self-service at UvA and HvA libraries

On 31 August, seven UvA libraries and four HvA media centres switched to self-service lending. With lending and returning machines visitors can borrow or return items without an employee.

International Student Affairs

This office coordinates international academic relations and assists with visas, scholarships, loans, registration and housing.
