On 31 August, seven UvA libraries and four HvA media centres switched to self-service lending. With lending and returning machines visitors can borrow or return items without an employee.

Higher service level

With self-service all material is faster available. This technique combines security and identification of material and makes collection management easier.

Staff is still available to assist if neccessary and to answer questions. Staff can now concentrate on rendering other services, such as the production of digital readers and assisting by mail, telephone or UBAcoach.

Longer circulation hours at UB, Singel 425

Students and staff of UvA or HvA can borrow or return items at the University Library, Singel 425 on weekdays until 23.45 and in weekends until 17.00 (other clients can use the library on weekdays until 18.00 and on Saturdays untill 13.00).
