Who is your 2009 UvA Lecturer of the Year?

Nomination period from 26 October to 9 November

The Central Students' Council and the ASVA students' Union are organising the annual UvA Lecturer of the Year award for 2009. The two most important considerations for the award are:
  • The Lecturer of the year is chosen by students;
  • The choice for Lecturer of the year is not based on popularity - the best lecturer wins the award.

In your opinion, who is the best UvA Lecturer?
Starting Monday, 26 October, you can submit your nominations for Lecturer of the Year. The nomination period closes two weeks later on Monday, 9 November at 09.00.

  • Selexyz book token for 300 euros for the second semester;
  • Van Dale Comprehensive Dictionary of the Dutch Language;
  • An Ebook.

Criteria

There are eight criteria used to evaluate the Lecturer of the Year. This lecturer must challenge you intellectually, takes you seriously, is knowledgeable in his or her field and inspires students to get the most from their programme and realise their full potential.

Longlist and shortlist

When the nomination period has closed, the study associations will nominate lecturers as candidates. These nominations will form the longlist. Using the longlist, the jury will then choose a shortlist of candidates for the Lecturer of the Year Award.

Using a humorous approach, the study associations will present the lecturers on the shortlist at the Comedy Theatre on 10 December.

The winner will be announced at the Dies Natalis on 8 January 2010.
