The Faculty offers you a wide variety of courses in fields including literature, history, languages, media, arts, philosophy, archaeology and many more. Our programs provide students with the opportunity to broaden and deepen their knowledge in a number of disciplines.

A key strength of our Faculty is the social and cultural diversity of our students, staff and community. This diversity provides you with a vibrant and rich learning environment. The city of Amsterdam is home to many beautiful historic university buildings in which the University of Amsterdam is housed. We hope you learn to appreciate the richness of Amsterdam's cultural heritage, its museums, architecture and also restaurants and bars.
